Sure, the ingredient list sounds a bit bizarre, but Jezebel spread (or sauce, as it’s also known) is a standard in the South and for good reason: It’s tasty. Try it on any bit of ham you can get your hands on.

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine 1/2 cup apricot preserves, 1/2 teaspoon horseradish cream, 3/4 teaspoon ground mustard, and 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper in a medium nonreactive bowl and stir until smooth.

    Mine is a tiny bit looser in texture than the original as I must use sugar free preserves but it is just as delicious and I love whosyerkitty's idea!

  • mmmm....I make a Jezebel and pour it over cream cheese to serve as an appetizer/snack with whole wheat crackers and endive spears. Good with cocktails. While some are hesitant at first, almost everyone loves it...
