Honey-Mustard Dipping Sauce Recipe

Sweet sauce with a kick, this condiment makes almost anything taste better.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Place all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and stir to combine. Simmer until slightly thickened and reduced to about 3/4 cup, about 5 minutes. Use immediately or let cool to room temperature and store refrigerated in an airtight container until ready to use.

  • I don't like the honey mustards that are mostly mayonnaise and have been looking for one that doesn't use it. This gives me another recipe to experiment with, so thanks!

  • This seems way too simple, and not at all to my personal taste as I don't care for dijon mustard. (I prefer whole grain for most things.) The first time I made honey-mustard dipping sauce I remember that all the ingredients could be purchased at Trader Joe;s, and it included a whple grain mustard they no longer carry, mayonnaise, and dark maple syrup instead of honey.

    I've long since lost the recipe, abandoned since the mustard was discontinued, but I know that a) it wasn't cooked and b) there wasn't any vinegar. I just don't think this version sounds particularly appealing, at least not to me.-COLLAPSE
