<introduction>

This has got to be the easiest way to make fresh lemon or limeade and the best way to beat the hot humid heat. The blackberries react with the citrus creating a vibrant fuschia hue. I was inspired by a local bartender from Argentina who made me a drink called a pisco sour using whole key limes thrown into a blender with the liquors. This is a ‘kid-friendly’ version but if you wanted to add white rum or vodka it wouldn’t be a terrible idea now, would it? You can even add ice and make a grown up slushy complete with a sugar rim!

 <instructions>

First choose either two lemons or two limes or one of each. Quarter and seed the slices.

Toss all the fruit into a blender filled 3/4 of the way with water and a 1/4 cup of sugar (+- to taste). Blend away.

Pour contents through a strainer into a pitcher filled with ice. You’ll see a lovely foam at the top and there is a bite to the juice from the peel being included. If you find it too bitter, you may use only one unpeeled lime and add the juice of three others instead.
