The Livorno Recipe

The Livorno
Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: | Active Time: | Makes: 2 drinks

One of the best things to come from Livorno, a seaside town in western Tuscany, is the complexly herbal liqueur known as Galliano. Here we combine it with sparkling apple cider and Prosecco for a light, fruity cocktail.

What to buy: Galliano is an Italian liqueur with a yellow color and an herbal flavor. It can be found in most specialty liquor stores.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/4 ounces Galliano
  • 2 1/2 ounces sparkling apple juice
  • Ice
  • 8 ounces chilled Prosecco
INSTRUCTIONS
Combine Galliano and apple juice in a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice. Stir until chilled and frost is forming on the shaker, about 10 stirs. Strain between two champagne flutes and divide Prosecco evenly.

  • Addendum to my last comment. I just followed the internet trail to the source of the recipe -- Aida Mollenkamp -- and ended up with the name of her agent. There really should be a way to follow up on postings.

  • Yes, drink sounds yummy, but I'd love to know something about the glassware. Anyone involved in the photography session out there?

  • The drink sounds yummy, but I can't tear my eyes away from the glassware in the photo. Really beautiful. Anyone know...?
