An addictive combination of roasted nuts, dried fruit, and chocolate makes this the perfect snack to throw together before you hit the trail or the road.

INGREDIENTS
  • 9 ounces candy-coated chocolates, such as M&M’s (about 1 1/4 cups)
  • 1 1/4 cups roasted, salted almonds
  • 1 1/4 cups roasted, salted peanuts
  • 1 1/4 cups banana chips
  • 1 1/4 cups dried cranberries
  • 1 1/4 cups dried tart cherries
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Toss all ingredients together in a large bowl and serve.

    This looks pretty good, though it will definitely make you thirsty. It clocks in at 300 calories per half-cup serving. A half cup is about a handful. That being said, if you're looking for compact and easy to eat calories (like for a hike, camping, or on the go), this would do well. Sitting on the couch? Two handfuls = dinner.
