Hannibal Lecter Recipe
In the book Hannibal, Dr. Lecter often drank Lillet with orange as an apéritif. As a stiff riff on that, try this Lillet cocktail—without any of the Hannibal creepiness, of course.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 orange twist
- 2 ounces Lillet Blanc
- 1 ounce vodka
- Ice
INSTRUCTIONS
- Place orange twist in a chilled cocktail glass.
- Combine Lillet and vodka in a shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously, strain into the prepared glass, and serve.
Herr O is correct, this is a cocktail that ought be stirred that it might preserve its translucency.
Yeah, you only need to add 3 shots of Gin, and take the vodka and make it 100 proof to make it a Vesper... Not a Vesper all. Just because it has lemon, lillet and vodka doesn't make it a vesper.
LOL!
I would expect a drink called a Hannibal Lecter to be a glass of chianti with a fava bean garnish.
Further pushing the Bond connection, this drink shakes when it should stir.
Add some gin and you'd have a Vesper Lynd (Casino Royale). Well, really a lot of gin.
