Evelyn's Armenian Hummus Recipe

I bring this to many pot lucks. Everyone loves it. Mom has made this at most holidays.

INGREDIENTS
  • Olive oil
  • fresh lemon juice
  • garlic
  • salt
  • canned chick peas drained
  • fresh chopped parsley
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. cut lemon and squeeze in a bowl
  2. add drained chick peas
  3. add garlic
  4. add olive oil
  5. add salt
  6. add parsley
  7. Blend

  • Not descriptive... e.g how much olive oil, how much chick peas... and main taste of hummus is forgotten... sesamme cream... it is not hummus without sesamme cream... and this meal belongs to lebanese, syrian and turkish -south - cuisines and have east mediterranean origin...

  • Great. I usually add a cup of pomegranate seeds and some pine nuts toasted with garlic salt, plus a handful of chopped cilantro. Makes for a beautiful dish. Yum!
