Kraft discontinued making Postum so my Sister (Marie) and I developed a substitute recipe.. and it comes very, close to the Postum flavor. You can double the recipe in the 8 oz. of boiling water for a richer taste…
INGREDIENTS
- 8 oz. Boiling Water
- 1 tsp. Pero (level)
- 1/4 tsp. Brer Rabbit Molasses (level)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Stir to dissolve…
- Add sugar and the creamer you like.. We grew up using evaporated milk with our hot Postum drink…so we have been very pleased with the results.
- (Brer Rabbit Molasses has a richer taste than other molasses)…try this recipe and let us know what you think…

It tastes NOTHING like Postum!
Thanks for the heads up on Postum. We used to have it when camping and it does hit the spot when an acidic hot beverage won't do.
