Yeah publish the other versions of the recipes, that would be nice :)
So many angry traditionalists here. I love it.
But you guys need to publish your own recipes.. It's frustrating to read somone's light version just to then have to frankenstein something more substantial together by reading a chain of criticicisms.

When I make dirty rice I use link sausage, chicken livers and thigh meat cut into small cubes, ground turkey and shrimp... and chicken stock or vegetable stock.. not canned cream soup... add some cayenne pepper or red flake pepper for extra flavor and a cup of stewed diced petite tomatoes.. YUM!
Awww, c'mon, canned soup?
I'd use (preferably homemade) chicken stock and simplify the Prudhomme original recipe: http://www.bigoven.com/79298-Dirty-Rice-recipe.html
I'm not sure, but I think that Popeye's (darn good!) recipe uses ground pork together with some chicken parts.
I look forward to an updated recipe!
IMHO, true dirty rice is also made with chicken livers and gizzards, or at least that's the way my cajun grandmother made it.
My family added chopped onions, green onions, red bell pepper and lots of black pepper to this dish-YUM!
