	<li>Preheat the oven to 450&deg; F.</li>
		<li>In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. With your fingers or a pastry blender, cut in the butter as if making pie pastry. This can be done in a processor. The mixture will look like coarse meal. With a fork, quickly and lightly blend in the milk to make soft, slightly damp dough. Do not try to make the dough smooth.</li>
		<li>Turn the dough onto a lightly floured board. With lightly floured hands, gently push it onto itself about four or five times. Pat out to a &frac12; inch thickness. Your hands will do just as well as a rolling pin. Cut into 2-inch squares or rounds and place on a lightly buttered baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, until puffed and golden brown on the top. Serve immediately or freeze as soon as they reach room temperature.</li>
		<li>Note: Biscuits can be flavored with other ingredients and can also be shaped differently.</li>
