  • In a 1-quart bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and soda and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks with the sour cream and stir into the dry ingredients until well mixed. Stir in the butter. Beat the egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold into the batter and cook in the waffle iron according to the manufacturer's directions.
  • Note: Serve with the toppings suggested for pancakes or with vanilla ice cream.
