Summer Sodas Recipe

By jabailo
Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: 5 minutes | Active Time: | Makes: A powerful thirst quencher

I have a nasty craving for soda…but I realize that corn syrup is more deadly than cigarettes (true. a regular soda a day will kill you…no questions asked).

I switched to cane sugar cola, but they stopped carrying my favorite brand at the supermarket.

One day I was looking at some o.j. and some talking rain…and…

For moms, you can make this natural “soda” cheaply en masse and not put the tykes on the road to Type II diabetes in middle age, plus save a lot of moola.

INGREDIENTS
  • frozen juice can (o.j. tastes great).
  • 2 liter bottle of Talking Rain
  • Ice cubes
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Mix the frozen juice with water and chill. Chill the talking rain.
  2. Fill a mason jar (I keep the sauce jars from Classico because they are invaluable) with ice. Fill half with Talking Rain, half with orange juice.
  3. Stir it around to chill…then drink. Add some fruit slices or some homemade iced tea.

  • I was also curious and did a quick Internet search and came up with this site - http://www.talkingrain.com/. Looks like Super Target stores carries some items from this company. I will check it out.

    Thanks for the recipe jabailo.

  • what is talking rain? It is not capitalized like a Brand so I am unfamiliar. Thanks for the clarification. Always looking for good things to drink. roseann
