Winnipeg Sangria Recipe
I made this up on a trip to Winnipeg a few years ago where I was staying with a relative who had a pool and a ;lot of cheap wine. Despite some searching on the internet, I’ve never seen another version of “sangria” quite like this. Easy way to make a drink with cheap wine for a hot summer afternoon. Works equally well with red or white wine.
- Wine (red or white as you like)
- Orange Juice
- Ginger Ale
- Ice
- Half fill a large glass with ice (preferably not cubes). Half fill with wine. Top up with OJ and ginger ale in about a 50/50 ratio. Stir gently and enjoy.

I was recently at an all inclusive in Mexico and their version of Sangria was comprises of cheap red wine and what passes for sprite in Cuba. Also had the pretty parfait later effect. I liked mine better.
where i live in mexico, they make sangria with wine and either orange juice or lemonade. some put the juice in first, wine on top, and it's a pretty parfait layer effect. yum!
