MEMBER RECIPE
Hearty Cornmeal Waffles Recipe
Great served with toasted pecans. As well as a spicy Blood Orange Syrup.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups AP flour
- 5 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 T sugar
- 4 eggs - separated
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 6 T melted butter
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix dry ingredients in a big bowl.
- Mix egg yolks with buttermilk. Add to dry ingredients, mix. Add melted butter.
- Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into moist batter.
- Cook according to your waffle iron instructions.
- Eat!
