Southern Picnic Recipe

A refreshing and quick drink that reminds one of warm Southern days. Easily batched for a party.

INGREDIENTS
  • 5 oz. Iced tea ("Mint and Lime Iced Tea preferred":http://www.chow.com/recipes/11796)
  • 2 oz. Bourbon
  • 1 Tablespoon Elderflower syrup or St. Germain Elderflower liqueur
  • Sprig mint for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Add ice to a highball glass.
  2. Add bourbon and Elderflower syrup or liqueur. Stir.
  3. Top with iced tea and garnish with mint sprig.

  • Oh yeah, that really hits the spot. I highly recommend the mint and lime iced tea over plain old iced tea.

  • Yummers. Definitely the tastiest warm-Southern-day evoking cocktail to emerge from the Chow kitchen last Friday at 4pm, exactly when I needed it the most. Best thing to happen to bourbon since drinking it straight.
