  • Sorry, don’t mean to be macho here, but you don’t cut good horseradish with cream and mayonnaise, if you want it, you add it. Here in the Midwest you use good horseradish, like Silver Springs or something. Good horseradish has pungent flavor it is not harsh and hot. And we have plenty of REAL cream, so it’s not that. • zuriga, maybe you are lucky or maybe you just didn't spend much time here. I've never "experienced" dry sauce here, but then maybe we Americans know how to pick it out. Maybe....

  • It has been a few years since I had a good horshradish cream dressing. I can't wait to make it again. I didn't use champagne vinegar. I really like your touch with that and yours is simpler. Looking forward to making it.

I made it last for a dinner party and I served it with a bed of spring greens, roasted red and gold beets, fresh fennel and walnuts.

  • Can't wait to try this! Our favorite restaurant here in Tampa has a bourbon/brown sugar salmon salad with horseradish vineagrette dressing that is just awesome. It's basically a salmon filet over a salad of mixed greens, red onions, broccoli pieces, and sliced roma tomatoes. I've been looking for a good recipe for the dressing. Thanks!

  • Trader Joe here in So. California sells Mezzeta horseradish cream

  • Found horseradish cream made by Mezzeta (Napa, CA) in a grocery store.....check it out.

  • I am pretty sure that horseradish cream is equal parts sour cream and mayonnaise with horseradish added to taste.

  • Maybe we are lucky here in the UK. All supermarkets sell good, creamy horseradish sauce. In the States, I mainly remember the dry horseradish in bottles (white and red) but I think there was sauce at times, too. Maybe the recipe should say it's not the red variety. :-)

  • Danimal, aka "Horseradish, cream style" or "Prepared Horseradish"
