Simple Pita Bread Recipe
Delicious Pita bread is best made at high temperatures. This recipe has been passed around my family and friends to the point that we all have it memorized and it has become a staple of parties.
- 3 1/2 Cups Flour
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 1 1/2 Teaspoons Instant Yeast (one packet)
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 cup water
- Mix everything together
- Let rise for three hours
- Cut and roll into flat pieces of bread. They can be large or small and keep their shape.
- Bake at 500 degrees for 5 minutes.

I don't understand if you mix everything together, why do you have 1 cup water and 3.5 cups water. Why not 4.5 cups water? Also, I love wheat pita much more than white. Do you have a conversion to wheat? I eat pita chips baked with olive oil and parmigano reggiano almost every evening while watch TV and I'd love to make it myself. If you can straighten me out on the water thing I will respond...+READ
