  • Caramelized Pears Recipe

I cooked this pear recipe today using South Carolina October Pears off my granny's trees. I ran short on brown sugar and added a little white sugar. Instead of clove, I used cinnamon. FANTASTIC! I will be freezing alot of this for use in tartlets for holiday parties.

  • I made this using Earth Balance buttery spread, which is non-hydrogenated and (more importantly to us) vegan. It was delicious! Will definitely be making this again as it is a simple and inexpensive dessert.

I will also take the recommendation of another poster and use this as a topping the next time I make vegan cheesecake. Sounds yummy...

  • excellent with orange zest, i made this with 2 cups raspberries.

  • Wonderful on top of a plain cheesecake!

  • My grandmother has a pear tree that she harvests every summer. This would be a nice variation for her pears besides just canning them :)
    Thank you!

  • Mmm! This looks great!
