  • It should last for a long time. I've read that it's similar to vanilla extract and will last for a while once opened. But store all extracts in a cool place, because it will lose complexity if stored in a warm place. Check out this discussion on storing vanilla. http://www.realbakingwithrose.com/2006/01/vanilla_shelflife.html Jill (CHOW.com Kitchen)

  • I have been trying to find out how long and opened bottle of either orange flower water or rose flower water will last?

  • Orange & mint are great together.

  • Adding fresh herbs flavors chilled water beautifully. Rosemary-lemon, mint, cilantro, dark basil, lemon sage.....green tea water with herbs even better!

  • A great idea, especially with summer coming. But it's also important to remind people that water that hasn't been boiled can't keep forever, not even in the fridge (that includes sun tea.) Does anybody know what the shelf life should be?

  • I made this last night and it was refreshing and delicious! It got better and better as it sat in the fridge.

  • I make stuff like this all the time because I can't stand plain water and am sick of spending too much $ on bottled. Apparently there's a book out now, didn't know there were enough of these recipes to make a whole book. I saw it on here - http://www.chow.com/blog/tag/cool-waters

  • DJ, I thinkyajust... blew the whole post-holiday-recovery thing all to pieces with that vodka. But January can use a little softening up sometimes, yes? And it sounds yummy. smiles

  • I love this recipe too. I substitute one cup vodka for one slice cucumber and add accordingly , depending on how therapeutic I want it. I find that it adds a "refreshing twist." Cheers
