Not all of us like soda and flavored drinks, but plain old water can get boring after a while. Here, the clean flavors of cucumber and orange steep in water for a refreshing twist.

This was featured as part of our Post-Holiday Recovery Menu.

  • 6 cups cold water
  • 6 thin slices English cucumber
  • 5 thin slices orange
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Serve.

This sounds great! We've used cukes and lemons so this shall be a refreshing change! Thanks!

Thank you this sounds wonderful! I' m going to go and make up a pitcher right now.

Love the flavor combinations! Unique, refreshing and a nice pick-me-up.

I've made a version of this in the summer with tarragon, mint or basil ..

Really great!

this reminds me of a day at the spa

this sounds like a healthy drink and a refreshing drink! I'll make one soon!

great drink! , made a pitcher today , also added lemon and lime wedges , i was surprised at how good of a cucumber infusion i was able to get.

wow sounds really great summer drink!

They served something like this at the gym at Treasure Island in Vegas.

So clean and refreshing!

as soon as we get some sun in San Francisco I'm going to make this.

I work at a Spa, thats the first time I had that...never get tired of it.....but what they use besides that is the cucumber with lime slices & a few of oranges...it tastes so good, refreshing Plus! its good for your digestive system////After a while of getting used to it....you'll never want to stop drinking it!....Enjoy...& sip up..

I love this recipe too. I substitute one cup vodka for one slice cucumber and add accordingly , depending on how therapeutic I want it. I find that it adds a "refreshing twist."
Cheers

DJ, I thinkyajust... blew the whole post-holiday-recovery thing all to pieces with that vodka. But January can use a little softening up sometimes, yes? And it sounds yummy.

I make stuff like this all the time because I can't stand plain water and am sick of spending too much $ on bottled. Apparently there's a book out now, didn't know there were enough of these recipes to make a whole book. I saw it on here - http://www.chow.com/blog/tag/cool-waters
