Caramel Hot Chocolate Recipe
We took the common sauce toppings for ice cream sundaes—chocolate and caramel—and threw them together in this decadent hot chocolate.
What to buy: For this recipe, use high-end chocolate, such as El Rey 41 percent milk chocolate.
Make your own caramel sauce or buy a good-quality one.
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 5 ounces good-quality milk chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 3 tablespoons Caramel Sauce
- Combine milk and cream in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook until simmering, about 4 minutes.
- Add chocolate and whisk until completely melted, about 2 minutes. Whisk in caramel sauce until incorporated. Serve immediately.
