Oyster Martini Recipe

Makes:
1 drink
INGREDIENTS
- 3 ounces vodka
- 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
- 1 smoked oyster
INSTRUCTIONS
- Shake the vodka and vermouth with ice; then strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop in the oyster. Alternatively, use a fresh oyster in season.

Additional comment here. Don't get me wrong. I do like oysters, even smoked oysters. There are many ways to prepare and enjoy oysters, even oyster drinks. But for me that would have to be a drink that utilized oyster liquor and not a whole 'smoked oyster' such as called for in this drink (for the reasons mentioned in my first comment).
Okay. Sorry but not only does this sound disgusting I imagine it looks disgusting. Although I can't tell too much by the picture I think it would look like some kind of loogie hacked up out a pair of lungs with a really bad case of bronchitis. A couple of words come to mind here BARF and NEVER.

For all those purists who wag their finger at me when I order a vodka martini and say, "A real martini is only made with gin", I can now retort, "Oh, yeah? Well at least be thankful that I didn't drop a #$%ing oyster in it."
