Concord Grape Martini Recipe

Concord Grape Martini
Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: | Makes: 1 drink

This drink was concocted in order to find an alcoholic use for my favorite juice. As it turns out, the syrupy, pure grape flavor of Concords blends perfectly with aromatic gin and a dash of orange bitters.

What to buy: Look for pure, unsweetened Concord grape juice. We especially like R.W. Knudsen’s Just Juice.

While any dry gin is suitable, this cocktail is exceptionally tasty when made with Distillery No. 209 or Hendrick’s.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 1/2 ounces unsweetened Concord grape juice
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • Ice
  • 3 whole grapes, preferably Concord, for garnish (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour the gin, grape juice, and bitters into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously until well chilled, then strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with skewered grapes, if desired.

I loved this. Concord juice doesn't often pop up in cocktails, so this bright, jammy little cocktail was a notable treat.

delightful and thirst quenching ... could be nice with Swedish Vodka too ... very refreshing ... I used Tempranillo Grapes ( Iberian Peninsula based ).

I am surprised that this article hasn't been attacked by Martini purists, who would insist that this is a Concord Grape Cocktail, not a Martini.

  • According to Jimmy Buffett this is called a "Purple Passion."

    It is good though
