Grand Marnier Tea Cooler Recipe

Difficulty: Easy | Total Time: Under 5 mins | Active Time: | Makes: 4 drinks

This recipe from author and former Gramercy Tavern managing partner Nick Mautone is a blend of Grand Marnier and iced tea that creates a perfect afternoon cooler.

Game plan: The iced tea can be made up to 8 hours in advance and stored in the refrigerator.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 small orange
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 cups Basic Iced Tea
  • 1 cup Grand Marnier
  • Ice
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Using a zester, cut as many long strips of zest from orange as you can and set aside. Cut off remaining white pith from orange. Cut fruit into 8 pieces and place in a small bowl.
  2. Sprinkle sugar over orange pieces and muddle or mash well. Divide orange mixture among 4 iced tea glasses. Add 1/4 cup of Grand Marnier to each glass and stir well.
  3. Fill each glass halfway with ice. Divide reserved zest among the glasses, then fill the rest of the way with ice. Fill the glasses with iced tea and serve.
