Chai Rum Not-Nog Recipe
Reasons not to drink eggnog: too heavy, too fattening, too scary (raw eggs). But contributor Camper English found a pretty good substitute, the Chai Rum Elixir at San Francisco’s Medjool restaurant. We’ve adapted it a bit to suit our tastes, and here present the Medjool-inspired Chai Rum Not-Nog.
- 2 cups crushed ice
- 4 ounces vanilla chai concentrate, such as Oregon Chai
- 1 ounce heavy cream
- 1 1/2 ounces spiced rum, such as Captain Morgan
- Fill a tall collins glass with ice. Add the spiced rum, then the vanilla chai. Stir in the heavy cream, and serve.
