Mexican Flag Recipe
Also called a rainbow cordial, the Pousse Café is an after-dinner drink composed of several colored liqueurs skillfully poured into a narrow, straight cordial glass. Because of their different weights and densities, the individual layers of ingredients remain distinct.
- Grenadine
- Green crème de menthe
- Tequila
- Layer equal parts of the ingredients in a pony glass exactly as they are listed.

Creme de menthe and tequila?!? I understand playful, and I understand the impulse behind design, but honestly, doesn't anybody consider flavor anymore?
When you drink these in Mexico, the waiter lights them on fire before you shoot them. Dangerous stuff...and not that tasty either.
Most importantly - how does it taste?
I think it should represent the actual sequential colors of the Mexican flag which are green, white and red. Does the layering effect not work in this order?
