B-52 Recipe
Also called a rainbow cordial, the Pousse Café is an after-dinner drink composed of several colored liqueurs skillfully poured into a narrow, straight cordial glass. Because of their differing weights and densities, the individual layers of ingredients remain distinct.
- Kahlúa
- Bailey’s Irish cream
- Grand Marnier
- Layer equal parts of the ingredients in a pony glass exactly as they are listed.

At Caltech, we did a variant (we called it The Bomb) that replaced the Gran Marnier with Goldschlager.
I knew a bartender who would set fire to these and make you toss 'em back in one gulp. That was a Flaming B-52. Not my favorite, I much preferred Irish Car Bombs as a novelty drink!
I remember tossing a few of these back years ago at the now-departed Brandy's in Halifax. Only problem was, I couldn't stand up afterwards....
LOL, I remember drinking these before going to see the B's in concert for the first time.
Hmmph. Sort of a poor man's pousse cafe?
