Harry Craddock, in The Savoy Cocktail Book, warned: “Four of these taken in straight succession will unrevive the corpse again.”
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce Lillet
- 1/2 ounce Cointreau
- 1/2 ounce Pernod or anise-flavored liqueur
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS
- Shake all ingredients with ice; then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

I had to hit up three LCBOs to get the Pernod and the Lillet - "odd" though they may be, it was highly worth it. This is a favourite and goes down well with drinkers of both genders and all ages.
Lillet isn't something I have around. Oddly enough I do have Pernod from a 40s style party I had years ago.
My point is that 2 odd ingredients is too much for one recipe.
