Savoy Corpse Reviver Recipe

Difficulty: Easy | Makes: 1 drink

Harry Craddock, in The Savoy Cocktail Book, gave this advice for his Corpse Reviver: “to be taken before 11 a.m., or whenever steam and energy are needed.”

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 ounce Fernet Branca
  • 1 ounce brandy
  • 1 ounce white crème de menthe
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Shake all ingredients with ice; then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

  • No juice, no shake, baby. I learned this from my mentors of bar. Stir it 45 revolutions & strain into your glass.

  • Fergus Henderson, in his cookbook The Whole Beast: Nose to Tail Eating, gives a recipe for a similar hangover "cure", which he attributes to his father, and calls "A Miracle": 2 parts Fernet Branca and 1 part creme de menthe.

  • I love the name of this cocktail! Makes me want to host a cocktail party just so I can serve them.
