<short_description>A drink that is meant to get you somewhere</short_description>
 <long_description>A drink that is meant to get you somewhere.</long_description>
 <introduction>

The name and purpose of Liquid Cocaine are far more important than what ingredients are used. This infamous cocktail might not have required its own entry, except that it has hatched so many variations that it deserves one. In spite of the oft-called-for ingredient Rumple Minze, Liquid Cocaine does not “mince” words. This is a drink that is meant to get you somewhere—even if you don’t know where that is beforehand and don’t recall where it was afterward. Liquid Cocaine is one drink where the sum is not equal to its parts. With 151-proof rum commonly called for, the equation rarely works out right.

Liquid Cocaine is served over ice or as a shooter. The key is that this liquidator be drunk very cold.

 <instructions>

Shake all ingredients with ice; then strain over ice into a chilled old-fashioned glass. Alternatively, put the liquor in the freezer, and serve neat in a shot glass.

Variation: Substitute vodka, amaretto, and Frangelico for the Rumple Minze, Jägermeister, and Goldschlager.
