For those of us from the old country, we used to have a 'Poor Man's Black Velvet' which consisted of half a pint of Guinness mixed with half a pint of semi-dry hard cider, preferably draft in both cases. (and forget this strange US custom of 'floating' the champagne on the Guinness, the two should be mixed together!!)
