French Kiss Recipe

French Kiss
Total Time: Under 5 mins | Active Time: | Makes: 1 drink

Look for white crème de cacao (clear white-chocolate liqueur) in better liquor stores. DeKuyper makes a good one.

This recipe was featured in our 2006 Killer Apps menu.

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 ounces orange-infused vodka
  • 1 1/2 ounces white crème de cacao
  • Grated orange zest (optional)

  • I Love the French Martini! This drink looks just as good and a must try the next time I'm at the Martini Bar... :-)

  • not to mention the French Kiss is often wrongly mistaken as the French Martini. French Martini has .5 oz Chambord, 1.5 oz Vodka 4oz Pineapple Juice (that makes a pretty weak one, up the vodka, lower the pineapple to add more kick). Can't wait to try this "French Kiss", but the classic French Martini is one of my all-time favorites!

  • too bad there is already a cocktail called a french kiss... For lemonade ice cubes 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons sugar 1 1/2 cups water For drinks 1 1/2 cups dry vermouth (12 oz) 1 1/2 cups sweet vermouth (12 oz) 6 strips of fresh lemon peel removed with a vegetable peeler Special equipment: 6 (6-oz) glasses Make ice cubes: Stir together juice and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Stir in water, then pour into an ice tray and freeze until hard, about 3 hours. Make drinks: Stir together vermouths and lemonade ice cubes in a pitcher until vermouth is chilled. Run a lemon strip around rim of each glass and drop into glass. Fill glasses with vermouth mixture, including ice cubes. Serves 6.

  • It's true, Godiva's White Chocolate Liqueur is creamy and white, while white crème de cacao is clear. We've corrected the suggested brand (though I imagine using the Godiva stuff would still be quite tasty, but would not look like the photo.) Thanks for pointing it out.

  • Am I mistaken -- or are white creme de cacao and Godiva white chocolate liqueur two totally different things? White creme de cacao is clear, whereas (unless I'm somehow confused) the Godiva liqueur is white, and I believe cream-based.

  • MmMmmummph... :o)
