With the dozens of apéritifs available today, you should think of Cole Porter’s words when considering what to order: “Experiment! Make it your business night and day.” Practically every café or lounge will have its specialties, and there is no reason why you should not dabble in your own at home.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 ounces Amer Picon
  • 1 teaspoon grenadine
  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Shake all ingredients with ice; then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

    I just wanted to let everyone know that Amer Picon is still sold in France. However, one has to look for it is supermarkets, in the wine section. A friend just brought me back a bottle (January 2012) Tedster

  • This is yet another one of the author's examples of not researching recipes but merely copying them from another source (and sometimes an erroneous one at that). Perhaps he is appealing to a European market where Amer Picon is available?

  • Where are you buying your Amer Picon? It's unavailable in this country as far as I knew. Are you using Torani Amer?
