Recommendations for Bachelorette Dinner

Looking for recommendations for a bachelorette party either in Hollywood or West Hollywood. Ideally we would like to find somewhere w/ good food (not TOO expensive) and hopefully a bar w/ dancing. If that does not all come together, possibly 2 separate locations (one for dinner, one for partying) but close enough to eachother so that we could walk or take a short taxi ride. THANKS!

M & M Soul Food, which one is the orginal locale for LA?

this place is the BEST! the portions are huge which is great.. the cornbread muffins that come w/ your meal are so super tasty! I also love the fried chicken and the short ribs are tender goodness. my fav sides are mac n' cheese, rice and gravy, greens, corn.. hmm everything! enjoy!!!

Gus's BBQ, South Pasadena

I went on Friday night, and thought the food was great! Yes, there were delays getting a table, but what else would one expect 3 days after a restaurant opened? Most important is the food, and they did not disappoint. I thought the brisket was GREAT!!! so tender and juicy. I got it w/ mashed potatoes and coleslaw, and was very happy. Others in my party got the ribs and pulled pork.. also really good. Unlike some that have posted, i really enjoyed the ribs, they were also very tender, and I liked that they were not over-flavored. It is also nice that the BBQ sauce is on the table so you can add as much as you want. The bar area was nice.. I think they should have a low partition between the bar and the booths right next to it, but no biggie.. I like that they have TVs.. The sweet potato fries are also great. We got the kids mac n' cheese as an appetizer which was a great idea, but not sure if they will always allow that.. considering it is only $6.25! The sliders looked good and I can't wait to go back and try other dishes... great first time experience though!

what can i use instead of...

Hi! I have a recipe that calls for

1/2 pound sliced capocollo, hot ham

Does anyone know if I could substitute that w/ anything? Or if it is easy to find? I called the local Bristol Farms and they are out and Pavilions has some, but it comes vac-sealed.. should be fine, but if anyone has any alternate suggestions I would really appreciate it.

THANKS!

Suggestions on where to go...

Looking for a restaurant to eat at tomorrow night, no specifics just some GOOD food w/ a pleasant/fun atmosphere. nothing too fancy...or overly expensive. Outdoor seating is a plus. Looking to go somewhere new, so nothing in Pasadena or Downtown.. maybe Marina del rey, Santa Monica, Westwood, Venice, Los Feliz.. anywhere! Just outside of the san gabriel valley. And although I love it, no Japanese, Thai or Chinese (been overloaded on that recently)... all suggestions welcome! THANKS!

Foods you love at Trader Joe's that got discontinued? [OLD]

not sure if anyone remembers, its been YEARS, but they had the BEST stir fry noodles, it came in a very small package w/ vaccum sealed noodles, one bag of veggies and the powder that you mix w/ water to make this amazing sauce. best flavor ever.. they have the chicken/veggie chow mein.. but there is no comparison. it litterally has been over 10 years i think, but i can still remember how great it was =(

Burger Continental in Pasadena---What's the deal?

Like someone else already said, the $2 for a burger, fries and soda is hard to pass up sometimes! That's the only reason i've ever gone there, and only reason I will!
