A beautiful reception in Embassy Suites, Arcadia, they have private banquet rooms and the lobby has beautiful tropical plants and a waterfall with fish, great for pictures.

LA Area recommendations please

thx for the update, BTW I wasn't referring to Tower Bar in the Sunset Hotel, I meant the one atop the previously named Occidental Tower. I think the name is changed to Steaks and Martinis.

LA Area recommendations please

The Tower Restaurant, sits atop a skyscraper and you will have a memorable dinner there among the clouds. For a trendy spot, STEPPS closer to the bank district on Flower and if you like art deco go to Rex on Olive.

Visiting LA, Need Recs

Huntley House in Sta Mon has a great top of the building restaurant w/fab view of the bay. It served mexican food last year and had a great happy hour appetizer buffet on the opposite side of the restaurant floor.

Best Reception location on a budget

Call the LA Train Station. I saw pics of a beautiful patio reception with fresh fruit/cheese table that would be ideal if you want outside. You might even have the ceremony there.

Best Canolis in L.A.?

Take him to Sarno's on Sunset. It's caffe opera on one side and the other side is bakery that even Rocky would run a mile for. Hey that's amore.

If you had to pick one neighborhood in LA to live in for best dining options, where would it be?

Yeah if you have a scooter or a horse to tie up while dining. Have you tried to park in those areas, OMG!! You have to venture out kiddo. Try SPAGI's in Upland, Rosa's in Ontario across from the Ontario DoubleTree and Rancho Cucamonga has many fab places that are not chain restaurants. Even Chino shopping plaza has Johnny Corrino's. Try to drive over the hill and you'll be in for a surprise!! Anyone out there agree?

Fosselman's Banana Malt

Charlie's Trio is a fun casual Italian eatery on Main, then on corner of Main/Garfield is Johnny Rockets, if you want latin food and great music turn south on Garfield to Ambiente, across fr Mervyn's plaza.

TACO CATERERS

I'd like to hear your review. Am looking for a taco service for wedding reception inside a hall. I already have paper goods and guest list is 100. One restaurant delivers the banquet chafing dishes and picks them up later so you don't need to use their servers if you have your own, (they haven't retd call yet).

Trendy/fun dinner in Hollywood?

360 Restaurant on corner of Sunset/Vine, penthouse restaurant, bar, and nightclub. Celebrities and other guests who flock to this hotspot can enjoy 360 degrees of city line views while dining at the restaurant, grooving on the dance floor, or sipping a cocktail at the bar. The real party starts after the restaurant side closes. Great people meeting / hookup spot.

Best Italian Restaurant in San Gabriel Valley / Pasadena area?

If anyone has dined at Portofino in LaHabra they'd be in for a treat. Northern Italian and also sauce dishes and roman column decor, very elegant. Gives you the feel of a Westside restaurant in the SGV. That's amore. If you prefer more casual Il Fornaio in Old Town Pas. they even have a glassed in private room w/seating for 20, I think?

Restaurant (for foodies) to celebrate

For 360 degree view of the city, on Olive Street atop the SBC building is "Windows" or The Tower Restaurant (previous name). Also fun is STEPPS on Flower St. inside the bank building. If you like lively ambience try The Tower Bar inside the Sunset Hotel for a late nite hangout.

One Day in Santa Barbara

Just remembered another fine dining spot w/great view. El Encanto on the hill. Call ahead because I heard it is undergoing renovation, not sure if it's completed yet. Very romantic sometimes a pianist or harpist in dining room.

SoHo in Sta Barbara on State St is all about fun, dining and dancing to great bands. Avoid the traffic on State by using a mobile ped. Cyclists that transport 2 riders on State for a tip.
