Bamboo Fire - Delray
Just tried this place over the weekend and it's truly a gem! Away from the glitz and over priced menus on Atlantic Ave. Service is slow, island style! Basa cooked on a banana leaf, tostones, garbanzo fritos, fish tacos, fresh salad, sweet plantain, and Calypso Lemonade (on the very sweet side, had to mix with club soda). A must try if you are looking for some delicious island food.

Little Q Hot Pot, Arlington
There are plenty of other items (Szechuan Chinese) on the menu besides the delicious hot pot! Had a great and healthy meal with the family tonight. What a great addition to E. Arlington! Can't wait to go back!
Lead found in Indian Spices? Is it safe to eat Indian Resturant food?? [from Boston Board]
http://www.boston.com/news/health/articles/2010/03/20/lead_poisonings_linked_to_indian_imports/
Please read the recent Boston Globe article. I won't be feeding my kids any Indian Food until I know it's safe.
French Door, Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator - New Owners, Please Post
We bought an stainless steel AMANA bottom freezer two years ago for our kitchen redo. It's the WORST appliance we've purchased. It just completed it's 7th repair since purchase. The defrost keeps on breaking and we end up with a completely iced freezer and non-working frig. It's been completely re-built (all new electronic parts etc) and I think it's only lasted 6 months max before it stops working again. I would warn against any AMANA, Maytag or KitchenAid bottom freezer, stay away!
where is the "it" restaurant of Boston?
Just had our second lunch at Gran Gusto and LOVE this place! It's certainly a hidden gem in North Cambridge. They have the freshest and best prepared seafood salad... homemade pasta and desserts were all wonderfully prepared. This may be my new lunch spot for a while! I love how the owner comes out to greet everyone in his warm Italian way.
Where can I buy FRESH uncooked ramen or yakisoba noodles?
I'm looking for fresh ramen noodles in the Cambridge/Somerville area. I know Pemberton Farms use to carry them. Couldn't find them recently? Anywhere else? Golden Dragon (Chinatown grocery store) or H-town did not carry them today... Help!
In Boston for 2 days (not to miss)

J&J Turo-Turo, Quincy
I went to JnJ Turo-turo a few weeks ago since I was craving Filipino food. The service was very friendly and decor cheery and clean. It was a nice small selection of Filipino basics. I had the kare-kare and it was delicious. I think most Filipino dishes could use more vegetables... and would have liked more greens in the kare-kare. The chicken bbq stick was a bit too fatty for me and so was the pork adobo. I'm glad there is a Filipino joint around but I was have like to see them make the food a bit "healthier"... I know, it's very Filipino to love all the fat on the meat! I'm still nostalgic for my mom's home cooked, gourmet-ish Filipino food.
Need recs for Capitol Hill resturant for 15 people

Iggy's Bakery Store, rediscovered

Diary Bar opens next to Kick*ss Cupcakes
I heard they opened... anyone been there yet????
Favorite kid-friendly restaurant?
I agree Redbones is a fun place for both kids and adults. Full Moon in Huron Village is an option too though it can get a bit over run by kids. Jasper White's Summer Shack is also kid friendly.
Porter Square Chow
add to Porter faves:
Boca Grande (toward Harvard)- Tamales!!

Around Harvard Square with a Toddler
Redbones in Davis Square is very kid friendly. Our daughter loves it there... good finger food, place is noisy enough that kid noises blend it and the staff is very accommodating. If you go on the early side you'll avoid the crowds. Just take the Redline to Davis.. very easy from Harvard.
Oyster Po' Boy at Redbones
Also just tried the Oyster Po'Boy for the first time and they are delicious! I think it's my favorite thing on the menu these days.... :
Fried Oysters at Redbones
I just discovered these babies! Yum!!!! I much prefer them to fried clams now.
(they don't serve fried clams there)
Howard Johnson style fried clams?
Kelly's has great fried clams too. There is a new location in Everett (on your way to Target).
Tibetan Restaurant which is your fave?
I just recently discovered the delights of Tibetan food… love the buffet at Martsa on Elm in Davis Sq. Any other suggestions?
