Thanksgiving dinner in San Diego
Hello all!
We will stay at the Holiday inn Bayside near the Point Loma and downtown/old town areas. Any places around that serve a good Thanksgiving dinner for around $30 a plate (give or take five dollars)? This will be for three adults.
Thanks!
Olvera Street/China Town/Downtown recommendations
Thank you to those who have already posted. Some unique places thus far! I think I need to hear of a few more in the area before I make the selection. Any other suggestions for Mexican food or Chinese in the area?
Olvera Street/China Town/Downtown recommendations
I want to take my girlfriend some place different and thought that Olvera Street may be a good place to go. We'll hopefully take the train up from the OC to Union Station this Friday afternoon.
I haven't been and several years and wonder if there are still good Mexican food restuarants in the area.
I'd prefer a sitdown restaurant if possible, but not mandatory.
I'm a big fan of cheese enchiladas and carnitas tacos. She loves beef tacos.
Depending on what is said here, we may want to go to China Town to eat instead or go to both.
Any recommendations for places within walking or Metro rail/bus, as we will not have a car?
We'll probably be around for several hours.
Thanks!
Thanksgiving Dinner in Orange County
Hello there:
My family and I usually go to Arizona for Thanksgiving. However, this year is a bit different because of conflicting work shedules.
Here's what I would like to ask. Are there any good places around Orange County that are serving Thanksgiving dinner? We are in Irvine and would rather not travel a long way to find a place. We want to pay a total of around $100 (give or take $20) for three people. No kids in the family, just two adults and a 20-year-old.
Thanks!
Sgt Pepperoni's in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa
Is the pizza good? Any recommendations from fellow chowhounds?
Birthday dinner in the OC
I'm looking for a nice restaurant in the OC where I can have a birthday dinner. I live in the Irvine and what to find a place in the county that I may not have been to before. I will just be with a couple people, but would like the place to be classy, upscale, or better than average.
Thanks!

Wally George mexican plate? (Orange County)
Within the last 10 years, I remember Wally George, former local KDOC-TV (and syndicated) combat TV host, mentioned that there was a restaurant in the OC that had a Wally George Combination Plate. If I recall correctly, the restuarant served mexican food and was located in Anaheim, Garden Grove, Orange, or Santa Ana. Does anyone know if the plate still exists and/or at what restaurant?
Thank you!
Where can I find Butterscotch/Butterscotch creme pie in the OC?
I'm looking for a place that serves Butterscotch/Butterscotch creme pie. I've called around to Marie's, Polly's, and Gelson's. Nothing is turning up.
Breaded veal in the OC?
Is there any restaurant that serves a quality breaded veal dinner or breaded veal sandwich in the OC besides Dick Churches in Costa Mesa? It's hard to find these days and I need some assistance from fellow hounds.
Thanks!
Thai in the OC
Hello:
Is there some really good Thai food restaurants in the OC? I've been to a couple in the OC which were OK, but not great.
Looking for British food in the OC
Hello there:
I'm looking for a restaurant that serves British food (from England) in the OC. I want to stay away from these that are actually bars/pubs serving food.
Thank you!
