Any good "fish camp" restaurants in Central FL?

We're going to Ichetucknee Springs leaving from Boynton Beach. It would be fun to sample some real Florida-style fish along the way. Any ideas?

Best Crab house in Miami, Ft Lauderdale even Palm Beach vicinity

I'm from D.C. and I can tell you there's a BIG difference between the way they serve blue crab cakes in Maryland and the way they serve them in Florida. Rustic Inn was disappointing. OK, there's the history of the place, but they just didn't serve crab cakes the way I like them. I finally found some really good ones at Cap's Place in Lighthouse Point (near Pompano) after nine years. Don't miss Maryland, anymore. :)

Good Greek food to try in Pompano

I've been there twice and enjoyed the outdoor seating overlooking the water. Check out their early bird (or, maybe fixed price??) dinner selection. Everything was delightful and I'd go back again.

Best Maryland Crabcakes: Lake Worth to Delray?

Finally. I found the best crab cakes in the area but I had to go south to Lighthouse Point (near Pompano) to get them. Then, I had to take a boat to get them...and I had to pay through the nose to get them...but it was worth every penny. Try Cap's Restaurant and see. Filled with lump crabmeat and as good as any Maryland crab I ever ate.

Good Greek food to try in Pompano

Went back for the gyro. It was ok, nothing special. I still prefer the Moussaka. Also tried the avoghlemono(sp?) soup but it was too watery for my taste,

Good Greek food to try in Pompano

I went to the Gyro Cafe (not sure of the actual name) on Federal Highway South of Sample Road (on the west side) the other day and was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is in a strip mall and is very plain.

I just went in for a gyro but then I saw the Moussaka on the menu. My favorite. So, the gyro had to wait.

So glad I made that choice because this is the first place I have been to since I lived in Maryland that knows how to make a good bechamel sauce. The Moussaka and the Pasticcio (sp??) were both winners. I'm looking forward to their other dishes in the future.
.
In the meantime, I'll have to try that gyro.

Great Breakfast an hour north of Miami?

Check out the beachfront in Lake Worth. I think the restaurant on the corner is called Mr. G's, or something like that. If you are leaving Florida, the ocean view from the enclosed room will make you homesick before you even leave...and, the food is great, too.

Islamorada "Chesapeake Restaurant"

Years ago we stopped at the Chesapeake Restaurant on our way to the Keys and enjoyed some of the best seafood dishes we've ever had. Time flies and the restaurant is gone. Does anyone know whether someone tore it down and then rebuilt and renamed the place?

Also, we went to a restaurant near Coconut Grove that was on the Bay and had outdoor seating in the rear with a band and dancing. We loved that place, too.

Tell me they've just been revamped somewhere else, bigger and better and we can still go there.

Need private dining room for 15-20 in S. Palm Beach County.

I'm planning several luncheons for a group of women. They need enough space to set up one long table so everyone can sit together and not disturb anyone else. Budget: Inexpensive-Moderate.

So far, I've heard about Ellie's in Delray, the Atlantis Grill in Lantana, and Lox Around the Clock in Delray. Any others?

Thanks.

Victorian tea room between Lake Worth and Delray

I found The Little Tea House in Lake Worth and spoke to the proprietor. She was so accommodating that I went ahead and made the reservation. The menu is varied and I think there is something for everyone. I'll report back soon.

Best Crab house in Miami, Ft Lauderdale even Palm Beach vicinity

I'm from Maryland and I think you will be disappointed in Rustic Inn. I was. Not much crab meat. Mostly filler. I'd love to know where they have good crab cakes down here when you find them.

So far, the best I've found were at the Two George's in Boynton Beach.

Victorian tea room between Lake Worth and Delray

I'd like to invite a group of 15 ladies for afternoon tea in quaint surroundings. Nothing too expensive, please. Can anyone recommend a nice place?

Best Maryland Crabcakes: Lake Worth to Delray?

I tried the crabcakes and these just didn't have what real Maryland crabcakes have-- lots of crab meat with very little filler. These were mostly filler with no detectable pieces of crab meat that I could find. Poached eggs on top of crab-flavored filler sounds ok, though. Just not a real Maryland crabcake.

Anything good to eat near Jackson Hospital in Miami?

Do a Google Search for Little Havana if you have a car and want to check out the area.

Good Greek Restaurant in DC area?

I moved away and haven't been there since but if I ever get back, the first place I'd go for a good Greek dinner would be Ambrosia, in Rockville, MD, especially on a Saturday night when they make their signature Lamb with Artichokes in Yogurt dish. Yum!

Best Maryland Crabcakes: Lake Worth to Delray?

I am looking for the real thing, a crabcake made with chunks of crabmeat and very little filler. I'm from Maryland and I am homesick. Help!
