Where to buy Sucre à la crème

I know for sure that Biscuiterie Oscar sells some. However, I never tried it, so I can't comment on taste/texture.

lunch place for group in or near Ahuntsic

For a casual lunch, you may go to Zagrum. I never went for lunch, only for breakfast, but the menu seems varied and a couple of things seemed interesting. On the same street, Le Petit Flore may also accommodate you.

Other than that, there's the usual St-Hubert and Mikes on Lajeunesse.

Beer shop in Montreal?

In Ahuntsic, there is depanneur Dépan Expres which have a pretty decent selection of local micro and some import.

It's on Fleury street between Christophe-Colomb and Papineau.

Humm... I did not see that one pass a month ago... Sorry if it's reposting.

Restaurant openings

I've just read that Daniel Vezina, chef at Laurie-Rafael in Quebec City is to open a new restaurant in Montreal. It would be at Hotel Germain on Mansfield.

Could be interesting. I have found memories of meals at L-R.

So, anyone went to that new incarnation of "Joli Moulin"? I remember that restaurant in their former location on Sherbrooke E. as one of the worst restaurant experience in my life. Food was barely ok, decor was completely outdated but it really was abysmal bad service that I will remember forever. This is still the only occasion in my whole life that I voluntarily left no tip.

Bitburger, suitcases (355ml.)

I am not too sure as what you are referring to as 'suitcases', but I remember seeing 24-pack of 500ml of Bitburger at Costco.

Good place for meetings?

I am part of an association and we meet regularly. One of the place we like is the Sergent Recruteur. Very nice beer, pretty decent pizza and not too expensive. We can stay there very long, the staff is friendly, the place is quiet enough (music isn't too loud), the location is central. However, we usually meet on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, so I can't really say anything about weekend ambiance over there.

Hope it helps.

Vallier?

I work near Vallier and I am wondering if it could be a great place for lunch with colleagues. How was your experience there?

Anyone went for lunch? What about the price range?

Thanks,

Restaurant La Fonderie closed??

Hi there,

it seems they moved in Laval. Le Carrefour/Le Corbusier area. I don't know if the new place is already opened, but based on their website, I would say so.
