Best Place to watch the game??

hey hobecat, if you're still reading this post in an hour, you better get out of your house soon. any place that isn't normally crowded will be much busier tonight obviously...this is the world series, not a regular season patriots game. you could try green street, although only one t.v, people don't think of it as a place to watch the game so you can probably get a seat at the bar.

Best Chicken Salad Sandwich in Boston

Bean and Leaf cafe in the financial district always has a variety of chicken salads that are usually good

Kaya or other places with ground seating

Seoul Food just has an obnoxious owner who decides whether she wants to serve you or not depending on her mood, how many people you have in your party, and if you are with kids. Too bad because I want to like the place.

Outstanding Noodle, noodles made to order

That's the place, Noodle Alcove. No more, huh?

Outstanding Noodle, noodles made to order

Used to be a place in Chinatown called something like Outstanding Noodle that had a guy in the front of the restaurant that would stretch out and cook your noodles for your soup. The place closed. Anybody know (or even remember this place) if it re-opened? Are there any other places that do this?

A good place for a 15-person party?

Green Street in Central Square seems like an ideal place. They can accomodate big parties, have a good and reasonably priced wine list (even better cocktail list), and their are several seafood dishes on both sides of the menu.

Emma's Rant

they must have known that i ate at armando's

Emma's Rant

Forget Emma's, go to Armando's

Looking for OFFAL in Boston?

Green Street has offal on its menu. Pete, the chef, changes it frequently so I can't tell you what it is right now but it is a very popular item on the menu. Give them a call to find out what it is right now.

Emma's Rant

Emma's never could stand up to Armando's. When we were kids, the rumor was that she used to lick her finger and pop the bubbles on the crust. Plus, I don't think I ever saw her husband smile.

Whole Foods Medford Spring 2008

nice...the old berekely bowl of course.

Whole Foods Medford Spring 2008

Russo's in Watertown is awesome, closest to Berkeley Bowl I have ever seen.

Whole Foods Medford Spring 2008

my point exactly

Whole Foods Medford Spring 2008

That's like being excited that there is another Starbucks opening up. I have been going to the Wild Oats in Medford for a while now and although it doesn't stack up to Whole Foods in terms of variety, at least its trying and its different. Whole Foods is nothing more than a chain, and I realize that they offer organic/healthy/high-quality food, but that doesn't justify its insistence on being the only place that does so. I remember when Whole Foods was Bread and Circus in Central Square...just a little store trying to make it.

Best Birthday Cake?

Rosie's in Inman Square
Lyndells in Ball Square
Toscanini's (ice cream cake) outside of Central Square

fun, not too pricey dinner in cambridge/somerville?

Dobalina, I know you like bourbon...Green Street just recently added the 20 year Pappy Van Winkle

fun, not too pricey dinner in cambridge/somerville?

Mr. Dobalina, the website that you looked at is for the old restaurant. Green Street has a new menu but their website is not up due to some domain name issues. I believe there have been numerous Chowhound conversations about this fact but can only tell you from personal experience that the menu has changed. By the way, Dylan (the owner and Central Square ruffian) mentioned to me that he was getting rid of Guinness and replacing it with Gritty McDuffs. Being an avid Guinness drinker I am a little thrown off, but I wondered if anyone had any opinions on the replacement stout.

Turf and surf

Green Street in Central Square does a great surf and turf w/ monkfish and grilled short rib, not necessarily high end but the quality of the ingredients is top notch (they use a ton of local stuff). Great beers and cocktails too.

Open Faced Turkey Sandwich

Where can I find a good one? Had many of these at various truck stops as a kid on the family trips, so I know about the white bread/brown gravy version. Had a good version in Emeryville, CA at a cafeteria-style place that at least roasted their own turkeys and sliced to order.

Liquor store with good selection of bourbons

Booker's = 121-127 proof!! Maybe that was why it was hard to see.

Liquor store with good selection of bourbons

Bod Dobalina, I know you know that Johnnie Walker is not a bourbon.

Best Pho in Boston/Cambridge/Brookline

Another nice thing about Pho 2000: they will bring your meat on a separate plate (if you order the Pho Tai) which means that they cut the meat the right way from a bigger frozen piece. Have not been to a place in this area that does that (learned this style on the west coast)

Fun place for a group of 8 on Sat. night

Green Street in Central Sq. does a good job with semi-large parties. Awesome drink selection. Menu offers many options.

Best Pho in Boston/Cambridge/Brookline

Pho 2000 in Dorchester on Adams St., right off Dot Ave/Fields Corner is awesome

Best greasy egg & cheese sandwich

Every now and then, depending on what I did the night before, I wake up in the morning craving a greasy egg and cheese. I have recently discovered the Broken Yolk just outside of Davis Square (love their stuff), but it can be pretty crowded on weekend mornings. Any other suggestions in Cambridge, Somerville, Medford, and even Boston?

Best Haitian food near Cambridge?

Bob Dobalina- you being serious?

Best Haitian food near Cambridge?

Bon Appetit on Blue Hill Ave is worth the trip.. Many other good Carribbean spots on Blue Hill as well.

Cheap, late night eats near Harvard?

if this was ten years ago , i would tell you to go to the Tasty (but i think there is an abercrombie and fitch there now) Bring back the Tasty!!

Buying Beer as a Gift

if you can find the Anderson Valley Boont (not local) I would suggest trying it. I found it at the Wine and Cheese Cask, but I have a feeling that they may not carry it anymore. Long Trail also has a few good selections.

Best Steak and Cheese Sub in Cambridge

Ma MaGoo's-just to clarify
