Danial's Bistro Point Beach
Is this the place next door to the Globe Trotter, near the Seven Eleven (Right where 35 splits to go into Bay Head?) It was a steak house last year? If not, anyone know the place I'm talking about and been?
Down the Shore Hot Spots - NJ
Villa Vittoria is good, but I thought Rockefeller's in Point was so much better. I am so bummed they are gone!
Down the Shore Hot Spots - NJ
Thanks for the links! I've been to the Ship Wreck - it is excellent and the inside of the place is beautiful.
Down the Shore Hot Spots - NJ
Looking for hot spots between Brielle/Pt. Pleasant and Seaside Heights. Have taken a sabbatical from fine dining while pregnant/having a newborn and am now rusty on the places to go and looking for the hidden gems.
Places we've regularly hit in the past - Sand Bar, Clarks Landing (I think to die for Oysters Rock) , Europa (OMG, the steaks and the Caipirinha's) , Rockafellar's in Point (now closed? A TRAVESTY!!!), Crab's Claw (mediocre at best) and The Grenville (Pretty, but worth the price?).
In past years, Heat Wave was the place to be, but I believe it is long gone? Again, I am out of the loop.
Also, Diamonds (Surf Club - decent but snooty?) and of course Used To Be's. My first date with my husband was Used To Be's for Lobster Quesidilla's (which were delish in the day) but what is good now? Then there is Labrador, Joe Leone's for takeout or catering, Lasola's for sandwiches and Charlie's for fruit, veggies, and JERSEY CORN.
Oh, and yes, Bayside for breakfast/brunch/lunch and not counting the boardwalk for (Two Brothers) pizza, sausage and pep's or cheesesteaks or the Oven in Lavalette for pizza!
So what I am missing? I heard there was hibachi on the bay? What else? Please tell me what I am missing!
Rotisserie Chicken Central NJ
It sounds like you are in Central-Southern Jersey, but my parents SWEAR by rotisserie chicken from Bishops (Market/Grocery Store) in Whitehouse (Hunterdon County). That being said, I am a huge fan of Joe Leone's in Point, but I've never had the chicken.
Planning an affair
I've been to weddings there - the do a fantastic cocktail hour, main course is very good, but not "exceptional." The grounds are beautiful, especially in the summer. I've never heard any complaints from anyone about attending a wedding or event there!
Casual girls night out dinner in Ocean/Monmouth co.
There are tons of great places in Red Bank. Labrador Lounge in Normandy Beach is also a fun pick, as well as the Sand Bar in Brielle - good steaks and appetizers, excellent prices. For something more upscale, Clarks Landing in Point Pleasant has fantastic food. Oh, and Sawa Steakhouse in Eatontown is a fantastic choice for sushi and hibachi.
