Going to The Grand Ole Opry, Nashville

We stayed at the Renaissance near the Opry (which I wouldn't recommend) but had no choice since there was a football game and all downtown hotels were booked. We actually liked Ellendales - mostly organic and local. The best meal was at Arnold's.

Actually, just looked at the menu for Ellendale's and it's probably fine, since it's convenient. We'll be eating some really good (and bad for you) food for our other meals. Thank you.

I was hoping to be closer so we wouldn't have to eat too early. Any suggestions for something that might not be too long of a drive.

Great Fried Chicken in Cincinnati

The Fried Chicken must be pretty new since they haven't updated their on-line menu. It's definitely on the menu in the restaurant. I would still call about Sunday's - you never know.

Great Fried Chicken in Cincinnati

I hope they stay in business - really good quality at affordable prices. I thought that they do a Sunday Brunch - at least they used to. They're probably closed for dinner on Sunday's. I would call first though. I think they do a big take out business.

Scott's is much better than the Hitching Post.

Schoolhouse was pretty good but we only ate there once when there was still smoking and it was unbearable, we'll have to go back.

Great Fried Chicken in Cincinnati

We've tried a number of places and have had good fried chicken but last night we went to Scott's BBQ in Forest Park at Northland and Southland Blvd. strip mall. We haven't been there for months and have always loved their BBQ chicken (especially the sauce) but they've added a full assorment of fried chicken and it was amazingly good (the best we've had so far). The sides were great as well, the green beans and potatoes w/onions (peppery).

Driving from Jersey to DC

Thanks for the ideas, I'll check them all out. We're flexible on what time we leave.

Driving from Jersey to DC

We will be driving down to DC - on our anniversary - and would like to find a decent place for dinner along the way. I think we'll be on 95 so something close to an exit would be great.

Melograno, Philadelphia

Thanks, unfortunately it will be a Saturday and it would be better if we had reservations. I checked menupages.com and I'll have to come back next time during the week, to Melograno. Is there something else in that area?

New York-style pizza - Cincinnati area?

I'm originally from NY and would have to say that Fratelli's has the closest thing you can get. Flying pizza is a good 2nd choice and that's all that I've found. You can get slices at Flying Pizza and Fratelli's is only open for dinner but it's worth getting a whole pie and freezing the rest. Goodfella's, NYPD and Dewey's and especially LaRosa's - not good. Dewey's is great for salad's. I did try Goodfella's when it first opened so maybe it's worth another try.

Melograno, Philadelphia

Thanks, I think I would prefer a place that takes reservations. I've been doing more research and came up with Ernesto's also on Spruce. Is La Fontana better?

Melograno, Philadelphia

I need to have good Italian when visiting Philly in June. I keep reading about Melograno and it's not too far from King Tut. Is there any way to find out a sampling of their menu? How do people dress to go there - is casual okay? Do they take reservations?
thanks
