Reasonable Sushi and other Tokyo Recommendations
Hello Japan Chowhounders,
I'm heading to Tokyo over the 4th of July weekend and pretty clueless....
My husband and I absolutely love Sushi, but the recommendations I keep seeing here seem to be for $300+ per person meals. Anyone know of reasonable sushi recommendations?
We basically have 2 nights and 3 full days in Tokyo and would love to hear what types of food you think are a must to try while there.
I would obviously prefer to not eat in touristy places, but don't speak a word of Japanese, so not sure how realistic it is to eat in a place that is really authentic?
And since we are only about a week and half out, how realistic is it to get reservations? are they necessary? i'm usually a huge planner, but this trip came up at the last minute.
Thanks in advance--these boards are the best!
Atlanta Catering Recommendations
Hi everyone--
I'm planning an event for work for about 100 guests. We have a pretty cool office space, so we would like to do it here at the office.
Basically, I'm looking for recommendations for a caterer who could supply hors d'oeuvres. My budget is not terribly big, so I'm thinking more platters rather than staffed stations.
I'm new to the area, so any recommendations you have would be helpful!
Thanks very much!
Memphis Restaurant to Cater New Years Party?
Thanks...
Actually, what we'd like to do is have dinner brought in/catered at my in-laws house, so what I'm really looking for is a restaurant that can either deliver or just prepare a nice dinner for 10 to pick up.
Memphis Restaurant to Cater New Years Party?
I'm looking for a restaurant in Memphis that could cater a dinner for about 10 people on New Years Eve. Most of us grew up in Memphis, but don't live there any more.
There is definitely some BBQ nostalgia among the group and we've all go our favorite spots...but i'd love to hear about other non-bbq ideas anyone might have. THanks!
Big Canoe/North Georgia
We are driving up to Big Canoe (near/in Jasper, GA) from Atlanta next weekend with some friends. we are planning on cooking most of the weekend, but wondered if there were any must-have food experiences anyone knew about? Restaurants? Farm stands? country shops? Etc?
Thanks!!!
Gazi area of Athens--Mamacas, others?
-Thank you thank you thank you for this wonderful recommendation. Just got back from Greece and our one night in Athens was amazing thanks to this place. The owner was awesome(and looks a lot like Eddie Vedder)--he just kept bringing us different things to try and then at the end asked us what we liked the best and brought seconds of one or two things. he told us he'd been there for around 14 years and he didn't even know the name of the place. The restaurant above is called Bedouin if that helps anyone find it more easily.
For four of us it was 40 Euros for the whole meal including wine. Afterwards we stopped by for a drink at Mamacas--which was bumping for a Tuesday night and pretty cool.
