More Pittsburgh Dining Suggestions ?
Heading to Pitts next weekend for baseball, and staying at the Fairmont. This will be my third trip to the city in 4 years, and in the past have enjoyed Morton's, Piccolo Forno, Primanti's etc., but need some advice on old established restaurants, and new dining spots.
Heard good things about Salt of the Earth--what do they feature ? How about a couple ideas for steak and seafood (preferably a place that does both, well.) ? Carlton's, near the Fairmont, has a nice website...food any good ? Any info on Italian and breakfast/lunch spots would be appreciated, too.
Overall, I'd like to dine in the city, but don't mind a short cab ride to Lawrenceville etc.
Thanks, in advance for your help.

good food at niagara falls, canada? [Moved from Canada board]
I am looking for reviews of restaurants located IN Fallviews Casino. (Headed there in early October, and a friend thinks we should dine at the Canyon Creek Chop House.) My wife and I stayed @ Fallsview about 4 years ago and ate at their high-end eatery, 17 Noir. Thought it was pretty good all the way around, but given the pricing, only "excellent" would have justified the cost. Also, interested in hearing about the Keg in the Embassy Suites. Good ? I've eaten at their Mansion location in TO, and enjoyed it. Thanks for the help !
BEEF ON WECK IN BUFFALO, NY
Schwabel's in West Seneca, is good.. though they recently changed ownership. Plenty of other very good beef on weck joints in WNY..I like Charlie The Butcher..who has a small stand close to the airport(backside near Prior Aviation.)..and he's inside the Wegmans supermarket on Alberta Drive--next to Blvd. Mall. Another is Brennans Bowery Bar, located at the Main/Transit intersection in a strip mall. They pile on the beef and the horseradish has a good kick, too. Happy eating..and welcome back !
Dinner at the Venetian & Wynn in Las Vegas
On the subject of Vegas..a friend of mine who is an executive chef for one of the top high end supermarket chains in the country, couldn't say enough good things about Bouchon. He and his wife did spend $300 for dinner including a good bottle of wine.
Now, who can throw out some good choices for seafood, steak and Italian in Sin City ? I am staying at Bellagio..and Prime is booked solid. I am going in three weeks..and even now, finding many of the top eateries have limited or no Friday/Saturday availabilities. Anyone have an opinion about Aqua Knox for Seafood? Bartollota's looks extremely expensive. Willing to spend $100-$125 per person, but would like to enjoy a decent bottle of vino with my meal, too. Thanks in advance for the help. Love Italian and need a great steak place for my buddy !

Vegas Steak Houses
Hi, fellow chowhounds;
Just discovered this awesome site, and am looking for help in selecting a Vegas steak house.
Next month, I'll be paying my 4th visit in 7 years to "Sin City", and superb dining is paramont to making this another great vacation.
In reading recent reviews, I see good things about many Vegas steak establishments, but who, in your opinion really stands out ? ( I don't mind dropping a $150 per person for a very good place.)
Here are a few "meat markets" that have been advised: Craft Steak, Delmonico, Del Frisco's. (I ate at Smith & Wollensky's about 3 years ago and thought it was poor. Dined at Lowry's for Prime Rib last year..good, but didn't blow me away.) Have been to Emeril's @ MGM--very good..and the buffets at Wynn & Bellagio were excellent.
Also, if there are other restaurants--any cuisine, on the strip you'd give a thumbs up to, I'd appreciate it. Staying at Bellagio.
Thank you !
