10 hours in Chicago

thank you. I'll let folks know if we do anything interesting

Cupcakes in Saskatoon

And Crave has opened on Broadway, too. Larger cupcakes than CC Conspiracy. Chocolate cake part didn't taste that chocolately to me, vanilla was nice.

meyer lemons found at Edmonton Costco

We bought three bags at Saskatoon Co-op for 2$ for 5-6. Made candied peel, lemon curd, hollandiase sauce, and next plan is panna cotta.

10 hours in Chicago

I'm looking for similar guidance - 7 hours - arriving o'hare around noon on January 8, should be at union station at 7 to catch a train south! Sunday may be a factor.

We want to stay downtown and be fairly simple. I'll be re-reading replies to balabat carefully, too.

Looking for some help in Moose Jaw Sask

So Cordova and Nick's Place. Any other suggestions? I'm heading there for three days this weekend.

Thanks,

dim sum or other downtown Toronto for lunch New Years Day

My spouse loves taking his mom and her husband to ethnic restaurants.

We are going to be in Toronto New Years Day. He wants to go wandering around looking for some quaint little dim sum place in a random walk / exploration.

I am not so relaxed - I get hungry and grumpy.

any chowhound assurances of

1. places open for lunch Jan 1
2. good places open for lunch Jan 1 downtown, preferably accessible from subway?

Saskatoon: Bliss was fabulous

My spouse and I went to Bliss, recently opened on Broadway, for supper.

We think it was the best meal we've had in Saskatoon, after 8.5 years of eating here.

Great presentation and execution with subtle and tasty interaction of flavours and textures.
Ingredients were very fresh and their tastes came through well.

Our server was learning the wine list - recommendation came on matching dryness levels rather than tastel - but friendly.

Looking for ethnic flavour in Saskatoon, SK

I've been out of province for 8 months so the names aren't precise. Please post what you've found - I also want new ideas.

Golden Pagoda on 3rd, which is Burmese.
A Loatian restaurant on 33rd, past Christie's Mayfair bakery which is a godsend itself.
Saba's for Ethiopian on 22nd.
Saskatoon Garden for Chinese and dim sum. also dim sum in cumberland square shopping mall - 8th and cumberland.
Farmers' Market for Indian spices, some Persian, etc.

Haven't found any good Middle Eastern food, ususally eating falafel is on our list of things to do when we get out of the city.

Calgary summer restaurants?

Ditto to that, too. and I remember trees around the patio to filter out the sun

Good dim sum near a Bart Station

We are not the original poster but we ended up in HK Flower Lounge for lunch today. Busy but good food - we liked the chinese brocoli, mushrooms, and one of the shrimp dumplings. And knowing it was near the BART helped us find it.

My spouse says when he has a long layover at SFO, he'll probably go there again!

Carson City restaurants

Garibaldi's is still good and I ate three times at Thai Spice and loved each time. Thanks for the suggestions.
