Irving Mill Since The Chef Change?
Disappointing. Food wasn't great (although the burger was okay). Service was friendly but a disaster...took forever to get our food and servers kept telling us it was on its way ...and then ten minutes later we still didn't have it...and another ten minutes later, the same thing. Would not go back.
Special Diet Accomodation Help - Noho, EV or V
I found Craftsteak to be extremely accomodating to food allergies. By definition I think steak places are good because you can get a lot of simple foods there.
vegetarian restaurant for friends birthday
I'm a huge Gobo fan. Particularly their downtown branch. Amazing food and a hip comfortable interior.
L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon -- any favorite dishes?
Thanks for your report. Both times I've been, I've had a half portion of the delicious quail with foie gras and truffle potato (and they gave me extra mashed as well- which surprisingly, as you said, was too much!) and then a half portion of the burgers (my favorite).
For dessert I had some sort of chocolate oreo ice cream thing. It was good but not mind blowing.
Creative Sunday Brunch
I'm also a big fan of Extra Virgin's brunches, but the room gets too crowded for me. Other places I love for brunch are Cookshop in Chelsea and Perilla in the West Village. (It's not actually called "the lower west side")
Hope you have a great trip and brunch!
Private Dining Room/Wine Cellar
Adour has a really cool private dining room where you are surrounded by fabulous wines. The size of the room is perfect, but I'm not sure what their prices would be for what you want. Definitely worth checking out though.
L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon -- any favorite dishes?
I didn't care for the Langoustines, but loved ANYTHING with foie gras in it. The slider burgers with foie are so heavenly I keep fantasizing about having them again!
Have a great time and try to sit at the bar if you can. It's great fun.
any deli recommendations for murray hill area?
2nd Avenue Deli is on 33rd between Lex and Third. It's not as good as it was when it was downtown, but it's still worth going to. (Be warned, they serve no dairy).
Brunch near 39th and Park?
This may not be brunchy enough for you, but 2nd Ave Deli is near there... 33rd between 3rd and lex I believe.
Fabulous Thanksgiving dinner out recs?
Perilla's Thanksgiving menu looks delicious and also is a good deal.

Good burgers?
I really like BLT Burger. The mix of meats they grind together is delicious.
if you were choosing between little owl and le gigot...
Agreed. Little Owl is better.
where is the food best---red cat or perilla?
I'm a big Perilla fan and go there fairly frequently. In my opinion there is no comparison between the two.
Bouley a mess right now?
Oh I'm so glad you went to Per Se instead of Bouley. There is no comparison between the two, in my opinion. That's amazing that they gave you the private dining room. You actually just got quite a deal!
Congratulations on your baby!
Vegetarian Lunch in Midtown?
Once again I'm with RGR.
I'm not a fan of Zen Palate. And I'm a huge fan of Gobo which is also vegan, so it's all about the flavors.
My Upcoming Foodie NY Trip!
I had a great meal at Ramsay in May. Josh Emmett is the chef there now, and is really talented.
3 Dinners in NYC
Could you give us more information on what types of food you are interested in trying, what budget you have etc? There are many restaurants in this city that would be beneficial to visit!
College Kids at Carmines
It's been a long time since I've eaten there (one usually ends up going if a friend is having a big group of people out to celebrate something), so I don't remember much about what we ate - but I wouldn't worry about how many things to order for your group size. The servers there can definitely guide you.
Sat Lunch/Brunch with Foodie Cousins
Cookshop is delicious. Perry street I found seriously disappointing, but others seem to have had better experiences there. . Also you may want to consider Perilla who now have a white truffle griddled cheese on their weekend brunch menu that is incredible.
Have a nice meal!
Truffles w/ pasta for Saturday night! Help!
I don't know if Perilla is high end enough for you, but they currently have a black truffle and sheep milk ricotta ravioli entree for 24 dollars that my husband loved.

Gramercy Tavern, EMP lunch vs Joel Robuchon Pre-Theater Menu
Ramsey is VERY good. We went for dinner with another couple and everyone was impressed with all the courses. Lovely servers too.
Gift Basket that will WOW a client
Aesthetics not so great, but people seem to love the contents...
Gramercy Tavern, EMP lunch vs Joel Robuchon Pre-Theater Menu
Of those choices, I think I'd pick the EMP too.
But at a later date if you're looking to splurge, do Robuchon for some of the foie gras courses. Outstanding!
Gramercy Tavern, EMP lunch vs Joel Robuchon Pre-Theater Menu
Are any of these special menus online?
Of the three, I adore the other two, but I'm a huge Robuchon fan -especially if you like (and if they include it on the pre-theater dinner) foie gras.
Lesbian-Friendly ???
Don't do vynl. It's fun and pop culturey and certainly gay friendly- but not cozy or romantic in the slightest way.
Congratulations on your committment!
Which is better: EMP or Modern Dining Room
Flavorwise I much prefer EMP.
Still the Modern is good and might be a fun change if you've been to EMP a few times before.
Morton's $99 for two. Review?
I actually have always liked Mortons. It may be a chain, and their "presentation" of the raw foods before you eat is a bit tacky, but their meat is tasty and their hashbrowns are pancake shaped -- and my favorite potato side dish at any steak house in NY.
This sounds like a good deal.
Recommendations for Thanksgiving Dinner
We were at Perilla last night and they said they are serving Thanksgiving dinner this year. According to the website it looks like there are traditional and non traditional options. http://www.perillanyc.com/index.php?page=menus&sec_id=277 . It looks delicious -- I wish we were going to be in town for it!
where to find pretzel bread/pretzel rolls?
Per Se serves them, so perhaps they can be bought at Bouchon Bakery?
