Cheap and cheerful dinner for 4 in Gramercy?
New mommy & daddy are stepping out with baby and another couple and are looking for a economically inclined supper - booze is mandatory. Love all cuisines but indian & just had italian last night. Can strecth to Union Sq. or EV.
Thanks!
Location for Baby shower in Gramercy?
Any restaurant suggestions for a baby shower in Gramercy? Lots of food-lovers in this crew and we like our booze as well. Totally casual is cool - none of us made of $$$. I was thinking Bar Milano, but I'd like a couple of more options.
Thanks!
Elegant, romantic lunch in Manhattan after wedding ceremony?
Congratulations! Wow! So great!
We got married and ran straight to Union Square Cafe for a gorgeous meal served impeccably, just staring into each others' eyes and laughing. You need a place that will cause you no distractions other than loving every second of what you just did. My suggestions: Union Sq Cafe, Gramercy Tavern.
Casual place in Murray Hill
what about Rare??! Casually the yummiest burgers for miles! Not to mention their truffle fries! Run, do not walk... 37th and Lex.
Babbo fully booked! - now I'm lost!!
If you have not been to Gramercy Tavern and you can get a reservation there, you absolutely must. The food is outstanding and the service is equal. It's a truly wonderful experience that would be consistent with the list of restaurants you've already tried. Union Square Cafe would be my second choice and L'Impero my third. Good luck, and please post where you finally chose!
BLT Prime Meat?
What do we think of the meat at BLT Prime? I'm usually a filet girl, but I'm thinking of trying something new. Any recommendations?
Dinner before concert @ Irving Plaza?
We have a 9pm show at Irving Plaza and need some reccos for a yummy dinner beforehand. Not looking to spend like at Gramercy Tavern, but not on the cheap either. Very open to different types of food. One of us is pregnant, so alcohol is not necessary.
Salmon River?
I'm freelancing near Salmon River and very tempted by the idea of a pan seared salmon. Has anyone tried SR out?

"Elegant-Casual" Dress Code?
My sister has invited us to celebrate her birthday tonight at Scalini Fedeli right after work. I've never been, so I went to their website to check it out. It looks magnificent: http://www.scalinifedeli.com/scaliniNYC/scaliniNYCMain.html
I'm just worried that I'll be under-dressed, wearing a sweater-dress rather than something fancier. I called to see what their dress code was and they said "elegant-casual".
What does this mean to you?
Dinner for 8 from LA on Saturday pm
My best friend, a casting director in LA, is coming into town with new boyfriend and entourage and I want to take them somewhere delicious and fun and very New York. Not looking for Le Cirque price level, but not on the cheap either. We'll go anywhere in town and we've all got an experimental streak, so any type of food will do.
Thanks, Houndies!
Dinner for Mom and her friend near East 57th
My mom is visiting from San Francisco and I'm taking her and her friend out to dinner tonight. Her friend lives on East 57th and we'd like to stay close to that area. I've thought about Rosa Mexicano + Nobu 57, but need a few more ideas. Although we don't want to go as steep as Nobu in terms of price, I'd still like to bring them somewhere relatively nice. They like mexican, french, american (new or traditional), italian might be alright, but garlic is an issue.
I would love any suggestions you might have. Thanks!
Mourning Mets Fan Needs Good Sushi
Always Yasuda first. They do a $20 lunch Prix Fixe, but dinner at the sushi bar is unprecedented but pricey.
Iron Sushi is awesome for midprice
We go to Yo on 2nd Ave for cheap-and cheerful.
Hane Sushi on 1st Ave + 20th? Thoughts?
We live right around the corner and have been saving this one until more reviews were made. Has anyone been there and, if so, what did you think?
Thai NY on 3rd Ave - What do you think?
Love thai food but haven't tried this one yet. Has anyone tried it? Any thoughts?
Mortons Steakhouse - Recommendations?
I don't know. I guess it must be pretty new b/c I hadn't even heard of it in NYC until my friend made rezzies.

Mortons Steakhouse - Recommendations?
I'm a HUGE carnivore and live on a consistent diet of strip or filet. Wondering if there is anything we should NOT miss when I go there Friday with 2 carnivorous friends.
Frozen Yogurt near the Empire State Building?
I'm freelancing in the ESB and don't know where to find frozen yogurt, other than going all the way over to 3rd Ave (not that convenient for a quick, cool bite). Spent 40 minutes yesterday, trolling the area, but found nothing. I've got such a craving, can anyone help?
Lunch for two girlfriends today near City Hall???
Any quick suggestions for lunch today. Flexible on price/food.
Thanks!
Small Bridal Shower - cocktails & hors d'oeuvres?
Sorry for the lack of info. Um, cool, meaning fun/great atmosphere. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the evening... budget not unlimited, but flexible.
Small Bridal Shower - cocktails & hors d'oeuvres?
Looking for a cool NY hang-out to throw a bridal shower for soon-to-be sister in law. Probably less than 20 girls. Can be anywhere in the city. Any suggestions?
Fleur De Sel?
Has anyone been there? It's in my neighborhood, but I keep forgetting about it.
