Chilaquiles at Pepy's Galley in Mar Vista

There isn't much else to say that hasn't already been said about the incredible chilaquiles at Pepy's. The chips are always crisp and never soggy like others I've had.

Romantic Westside Italian?

I second Sprazzo. It has a really nice ambience and the food is and "not too expensive."

favorite bakery?

Belwood Bakery off Barrington Place has excellent pastries and cakes.

Lunch Between Venice Canals and Getty Villa?

I think Coral Tree is still closed from a recent fire in the kitchen. You should call first.

Good Breakfast in Beverly Hills...not at a hotel and not $40????

Cafe Marly on Little Santa Monica Blvd. @ Roxbury has good breakfast and very reasonably priced. Portions are generous.

Great sandwich destination between WeHo and Culver City?

I second Bay Cities. But just be prepared for long lines on a Saturday. You can also fax in your order or go online to place your order.

Suggestions for California-style (non creamy) Coleslaw?

Reddi Chick in the Brentwood market has good cole slaw that is not creamy. They also have good french fries and rotisserie chicken.

Beverly Hills Sunday Breakfast: Advice Requested

I second Coupa Cafe. They have a nice shaded patio and I've never had to wait to be seated.

Also Cafe Marly on Santa Monica Blvd. is never crowded and they have a decent breakfast.

super romantic!

I second Chez Mimi. They have a really nice patio which is really lovely and romantic. I love their carrot soup.

I like the food at Cobras & Matadors, but it's awfully loud inside so I don't consider it the most romantic atmosphere.

Westside Weekend Breakfast 6-10 Girls

While I do like S & W for breakfast, it is not at all conducive to a crowd your size on a weekend. Same goes with John O'Groats.

Cafe Meditrani on Abbot Kinney has an outdoor patio in back that could accommodate a group. Their menu isn't very large, but I love their hash browns and breakfast burrito.

Coupa Cafe in Beverly Hills (on Canon) also has a nice outdoor patio that doesn't get packed on weekends. I like their granola and white yogurt.

Ice Cream Catering

Yes, Ben & Jerry's will come out with a cart with 4 flavors of your choosing and toppings.

Coldstone Creamery and Dippin' Dots will also cater.

the best SANDWICH in (Los Angeles) period.

I love the chicken sandwich at Il Tramezzino too, but I like to add goat cheese to it.

Bay Cities is my favorite sandwich in LA, but I also like the sandwiches at Larchmont Wine & Cheese.

Cinnamon rolls or other tasty breakfast treat in West LA

Belwood Bakery in Brentwood (Barrington Court, just south of Sunset) has great pastries, sandwiches, and cakes.

Coffee shops / cafes w/free wireless internet?

The Rumor Mill in Mar Vista/Culver City has free wireless internet, and it's next door to a Laundromat if you're multi-tasking. They also have a great goat cheese salad with cranberries and walnuts in a balsamic dressing.
11739 Washington Blvd. @ McLaughlin Ave.

Best eggs benedict on the Westside?

I second PDC. Their food and service are impeccable.

If you had to pick one neighborhood in LA to live in for best dining options, where would it be?

Your friend is AWOL - Always West of Lincoln.

HAPPY HOUR ON MAIN ST SM.

La Vecchia Cucina has a happy hour menu from 4 - 7pm Monday through Friday.

Afternoon Tea (LA) - Baby Shower?

I also found the Four Seasons BH to be very disappointing. The Hotel Bel Air had a wonderful tea in a lovely setting, either indoors or out on their patio.

lunch Sat Beverly near Robertson

I agree with Cuvee - they have wonderful salads. And if the weather is nice it's a great place for a leisurely lunch at one of their outdoor tables.

Bean & Cheese Burritos--Who has the BEST?

I like the bean & cheese burrito at Benito's. I think it weighs a pound.

Great Salads

I like the Cobb salad at Daily Grill. They use shredded iceberg lettuce and big chunks of chicken & bleu cheese.

Spark Woodfire Grill has a great Chopped Green Salad (I add chicken) with bleu cheese and polenta croutons in a balsamic dressing.

Delivery services/restaurants - NOT LABITE.COM!

Victor Jr's delivers although I can't attest to the promptness of their service. I really like their salads, and it seems like many people on the board like their sandwiches.

Musha Santa Monica review w/ photos

Great minds think alike.

Are you talking about Furaibo - on the northeast corner?

ISO Sunday Lunch in Beverly Hills where we can bring a dog

Coupa Cafe (419 N. Canon Drive) has a lovely patio and is open from 7:30am - 11pm. I've only been for breakfast - I like their yogurt & granola and the coffee. Their lunch and dinner menu is a bit eclectic. They serve Venezuelan Arepas, which the waitress described as a biscuit made with cornmeal.

Cafe Marly (Little Santa Monica & Roxbury) has a few tables outside on the sidewalk, but it's not really a patio. I love their chicken salad which comes with potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, eggs, radishes, etc. Portions are very generous.

Lunch in West LA

Nook has a nice atmosphere and good comfort food. I also like the boiled peanuts they serve instead of bread.

Nook Bistro

Book Club Blues

Carnival in Sherman Oaks (on Woodman) does take out. You could get a bunch of appetizers/entrees that everyone can share so there is a lot of variety. I think their food travels pretty well.

Quiche Anyone?

I had dinner at Cafe Marly and my friend ordered the quiche which she thought was fantastic. There are two locations - Little Santa Monica Blvd. @ Roxbury in Beverly Hills, and Melrose @ La Brea.

Face Cake!

Cake & Art will not only scan photos, they also do wonderful artwork on cakes in all shapes and sizes.
