Guess what - turns out they are opening TWO in Brentwood. The one you spoke of, and another one at Barrington and Sunset in the Brentwood Village. It's next to Divino's where a bagel place used to be. Two Starbucks, two Pinkberrys. What is the world coming to?
BREAKFAST IN BRENTWOOD
I think it depends on the size of your family. I second Le Pain Quotidian - Barrington and Sunset, next to Starbucks - if you have a smallish family and like organic/french food (I love it there, btw). I did not like my experience at Divino's for brunch. There is also the International Cafe, but that's even smaller. There is a place on San Vicente near Jennifer Convertables - I forgot what it's called - but it does a good, laid back breakfast with everything you'd expect out of a breakfast. If you are willing to travel, I would go to Santa Moncia's Bread and Porridge. Absolutely excellent, but call ahead. They get swamped, so I can't imagine Father's Day wouldn't be packed.
