Looking for Red Seedless Organic Grapes Thanks for the suggestions... These are defiantly out of season! No one in LA has them. We need them to be organic since they are feed to a parrot who adores them. Unfortunately, all of the standard red seedless grapes seem to have been sprayed with a fungicide which can be hazardous if not washed enough. The owner won't take any chances... |

Looking for Red Seedless Organic Grapes I'm having trouble locating red seedless organic grapes in the LA area. Does anyone know of a supplier that has them available? I've tried the local chains without any luck! Thanks! |

Five Guys Burgers and Fries Opening in Thousand Oaks IMHO Fat Burger has nothing to worry about either based on my meal at Five Guys. Carl's Jr. would be a better comparison.... I just hope that INO expansion plans don't eventually ruin the whole chain (they are expanding but not franchising). |

Five Guys Burgers and Fries Opening in Thousand Oaks I've tried the one in Cerritos, In N Out has nothing to worry about. Based on all of the hype this chain gets I assume that they were really good at one point (before they started franchising across the country?). |

Sweet Rose Creamery - a mother's delight A followup, For $16 we received 5 scoops of IC and a small bottle of water. The scoop sizes were about a third of the size one would receive at Fosselmans. |

Sweet Rose Creamery - a mother's delight The flavors we tried today (chocolate malt, banana, vanilla) were average at best and way overpriced for the tiny scoop size. The banana had ice crystals in it also... The pricing may fly for the area, time will tell. |

Where to get a champagne cake? Plusko's Bakery in Canoga Park has been making champagne cakes for over 30 years. It's not my favorite but apparently it is a big seller for them. http://www.pluskosbakery.com/special.htm ----- Canoga Cafe |

Red Velvet Cake at Los Feliz Costco Taking the price and size into account it was a decent cake. The household consensus was that the CRV cake was a little flavorless and dry, and the icing tasted like the regular cake frosting Costco uses with cream cheese mixed in. Definitely no match for the RVC once served at Doughboy's. |

Bob's Big Boy - in PASADENA???!!! Don't forget the Sun Valley and Northridge locations that have opened in the last year... |
|

I had a chance to drop by today and sadly the restaurant is closed... The food wasn't the best but I had fond childhood memories of eating there (great bbq beans and coleslaw). Their liquor license was indefinitely suspended on August 20,2009. It appears as if they just locked the doors one day and walked away. There are even notes from a few vendors looking to retrieve their leased equipment that is locked up inside the restaurant. The hand written "specials" of the day board is even still standing... |

Anyone know what happened to Valley Ranch BBQ in Van Nuys? I assume they have went out of business since their phone numbers are disconnected... |

undecorated gingerbread houses???? Vons had these the other day for $14.99. They come fully assembled but undecorated, not sure if they included the candy needed to decorate at that price.... |

Has anyone found Coconut M&Ms? I remember picking up a case of individual size bags at Sam's Club in Santa Clarita about 2-3 months ago. |

For some reason the prices at this location are MUCH higher than at the Burbank Bob's. Onion rings $5.99 |

Why is Fresh O.J. So Expensive in L.A.? Picked up a half-gallon today at F&E and it was $4.99. Just MAKE SURE you get the unpasteurized stuff, the taste is SO MUCH BETTER! They sell both and the containers look similar. Good strawberry lemonade too! |

Why is Fresh O.J. So Expensive in L.A.? Try the unpasteurized OJ at Fresh & Easy. Good as fresh squeezed and reasonably priced. |

Tried out the new Pink Elephant Thai restaurant that is soft opening this week in Canoga Park (next to Cavaretta's). The food was fresh and delicious! Of course it won't compare to the North Hollywood Thai joints but the food was solid and cheap (they have a discounted pre-opening menu) and MUCH better than the majority of the Thai places we have in the west valley. Pad Se Ew beef was $4 There were for full size portions with lots of meat that wasn't sitting around drying out. http://www.pinkelephantexpress.com/ 22039 Sherman Way, Canoga Park, CA 91303 Darren |

Buying Galbi (or some other meat appetizer) for a large party? Might want to check out Costco. They recently started carrying pre-marinated Galbi in vacpaks. It's usually found over where the marinated tri-tips are located.... I think it was on the expensive side though! |

You might try your local Fresh and Easy. I know they carry a killer unpasturized orange juice and fresh lemonade. They might have what you are looking for... |
